"Name a hobby outside of MEDIA CONSUMPTION" is the worst kind of post. It's squarely in that ever-growing genre of post where the point on its face is ideologically meaningless and entirely reliant on an audience's biased negative reaction to a certain popular online buzzword (in this case, "consuming media"). Define "media". Define "consumption". Are reading books, watching movies, and playing video games all inherently inferior hobbies for dumb babies? What about going to an art gallery? What about going to see a play? What makes those "different", if you instinctually answer "Noooo that's not the same!"? Where does creating art, or "media", fall into this equation? Why does your insistence on feeling in some way intellectually and/or morally superior than the peons who use TikTok always fall back on the idea that the only worthwhile, "real" hobbies require a certain level of physical, mental, and/or social ability and reinforce the glorification of manual labor? Why will we never Fucking be free?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you've got a banana bread recipe you like, you don't need to put bananas in it.

So long as you keep the amount and consistency the same as two slightly over-ripened bananas, you can swap out the bananas with pretty much any fruit.

these are the cheesy garlic knots me and my partner made from scratch last week! It was a really good way to ease into baking bread and get comfortable with the process :)

Here's the recipe we used as a base. I made a few alterations like stuffing the inside of the dough rolls with cheese and garlic butter instead of just coating the exterior.

I also made a tomato based pasta sauce to dip them in. Was just a jarred sauce that I jazzed up with fried onion and mushroom.

I find little Machete being happy over bread baking to be so endearing, especially because I can imagine a world in which helping with baking was one of the few childhood joys he had (due to the lack of art of him happy as a pup), and then remembering the art you did months back of modern Machete making a souffle, I can see reincarnated Machete being drawn towards baking in his free time due to those residual feelings from his past life.

Why do so many bread recipes label themselves as a “no knead” bread as if that is some kind of a bonus. As if the act of kneading is not the primary reason I am undertaking this task. I need tactical sensation. I need to take a shaggy mess of flour, water, and yeast and make it smooth. Is this not why people make bread in the first place. Apart from the fresh bread at the end, I mean.
